RESUMEN: Los Acacios, viene desarrollando a lo largo de los últimos años trabajos adscritos a la línea de Historia Empresarial, a través de los cuales se busca analizar al empresariado de la Provincia del Alto Magdalena, conociendo sus rasgos y caracterizándolos de modo que sea posible construir una idea de lo que ha sido el impacto de su actividad, su mentalidad, su origen, su relación con el estado y demás factores que toma en cuenta la metodología propia del presente trabajo. Múltiples preguntas existen aún acerca del impacto que diferentes personas naturales o jurídicas han producido sobre la Provincia del Alto Magdalena, a lo largo de todo el siglo veinte y en la época actual. Girardot, centro de la provincia por su historia y por sus ventajas estratégicas, se alza como un punto de gran importancia económica y el escenario en el cual ha tenido lugar el surgimiento de toda una serie de figuras que componen su empresariado.
